Brand Extension: Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design
Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design is a private art school in Denver, Colorado founded by Philip J. Steele in 1963. His mission: to make RMCAD a ‘community of creatives’ that would instill in all students a passion for creativity, innovation, and a desire for lifelong learning, both in the fine arts and applied arts. He sought to nurture the individual talents of each student, to integrate critical thinking and analysis into their skills, and to contribute in socially responsible ways to the local, global, and professional communities.
To continue this beautiful beginning, the college seeks to create a new, modern design for the way it presents itself to prospective students. This viewbook is one piece of a large design effort by RMCAD seniors in the Graphic Design program. Also created was a new graphic design website, pamphlets and zines to personalize the college to newcomers, a promotional video, and new murals to place around the historic campus.
The viewbook is a source of information about the college, the city it’s surrounded by, the culture of the college and city, and the design programs withinRMCAD. Inspired by similar printed materials from other prestigous and successful colleges, this viewbook shows off the powerful program RMCAD has to offer, with a fresh and modern aesthetic. RMCAD design guidelines were followed to strengthen and extend the brand.
